Greg Weiner has been VP of EMW for 12+ years. Greg has been involved in every aspect of steel construction for EMW during his career. Greg began his career in the field as a field and as the company grew eventually began working in the office to run the day to day operation. Greg has multiple certifications which include the following: CWI Inspector/AWS/UT Level 1 certified/Autocad level 1 and 2 certified. As VP Greg oversees the sales and estimating division and works directly with them to assist in all project specific negotiations. With Greg’s experience he is more than suitable to be Vice President of EMW.

Chief Operating Officer

Joe has over 27 years of experience in the construction industry. Joe graduated from the University of Connecticut with a degree in Structural Engineering and spent the first 8 years of his career in structural design. He is licensed Professional Engineer and has designed structures for several schools, health care facilities and corporate office buildings. As the engineer of record for many projects, Joe was involved with construction administration and on-site inspections coordinating directly with General Contractors and Construction Managers. Joe was drawn to the energy of a well-managed construction site which inspired him to pivot into construction. Joe spent the next 19 years of his career with A.P. Construction Company, a Stamford based Construction Manager. He served as a Project Manager, Project Director, Vice President of Preconstruction and Senior Vice President of Operations. He’s been in responsible charge of many projects totaling more than $500,000,000 in contracted value. In 2023, Joe joined Eastern Metal Works as Chief Operating Officer, which provided a unique opportunity for Joe to leverage his extensive construction experience with his background as a structural engineer. Joe is responsible for managing Eastern’s daily operations.

Mike joined the EMW 2023, bringing over 15 years of sales and business growth experience. Mike has a strong resume of working for fortune 500 companies, in the private sector, and for brand new startup companies. Mike works hand-in-hand with our EMW leadership team to identify construction project opportunities to help drive sustained growth for the company. Mike is constantly identifying key contacts and decision makers to establish effective lines of communication in the pursuit of all new business opportunities. He is responsible for generating new leads, contacting decision makers, and screening potential business opportunities. Areas of focus are assisting with developing winning bids to secure lucrative projects on competitive terms, while maximizing return on investment (ROI). Mike has created and maintains our CRM database to maximize our connectivity with architects, engineers, developers, general contractors, and construction managers. Mike communicates with key contacts during our execution phase and collects client feedback which is critical for our success. Mike is responsible for yearly sales forecasting, budget projections, and our strategic business growth.

Project Director

Adam joined EMW in 2024, and brings over 20 years experience in Field Service and Project Management. Adam is a

United States Navy Veteran, who served on board the USS Barry based out of Norfolk, VA. Having received extensive

technical training while serving in the military, Adam transitioned to a civilian career as a Field Service Technician

working in various different fast-paced industries. During that time, he graduated from Post University with a degree in

Business Administration. He spent 8 years with a globally recognized manufacturer of Robots and Injection Molding

equipment, where he started as National Service Manager and later grew to their Director of Field Services. In this role,

Adam was directly responsible for all aspects of client support and helped coordinate hundreds of complex projects for

many high profile companies. Adam brings a versatile skillset to EMW, which he’ll use to ensure the Project

Management team consistently exceeds our client’s expectations.

Senior Estimator

Michele Chernesky has over 30 years of experience as an estimator in the commercial, residential, railroad/bridges/water treatment facilities. Her background includes developing client relationships, reviewing various types of project drawings and specifications, performing material takeoff on structural steel, and miscellaneous metals, quantifying detailing, fabrication and erection hours, preparing complete cost estimates, develop comprehensive scope of work and bid qualifications for projects bidding. Meet with clients for scope reviews. Evaluating contract changes for cost impact to awarded projects.

Maintenance and Facility Manager

Judson attended CFP-UNSIMANS and earned certification in Welding/Fabrication as well as Detailing and Interpretation of Blueprints in 1989. He also attends JK Technical School where he earned a certification for industrial Technical Mechanic in 1992. Judson’s career in the steel industry began in 1996 when he worked for Edelman Metalworks in the position of layout and fabrication man. In 2001 he joined (EWC) Erection and Welding Contractors. He began as a Fabricator and was promoted to a lead man. In 2007, Judson was promoted to EWC’s Shop Foreman. In 2011, Judson was promoted to EWC’s Production Manager. In 2014, Judson’s was promoted to EWC’s Plant Manager. In 2023, Judson started work for Eastern Metal Works as Maintenance and Facility Manager. He is well versed in commercial construction, AISC COSP, AWS, ASTM, OSHA 10 hours and 30 hours Construction Outreach Course (certified) as HASMAT standards. Judson’s education includes a certificate for Safety Forklift Operation in 2006, certificate from Hobart Institute for Welding for the non-Welder in 2007. 10 Commandments for business failure and 8 practices for management work by EWC in 2009. In 2011, Judson attended a 40-hour AWS seminar for D1.1 in Hartford CT.

Operation Manager

Mark Winkler has worked for over 45 years in the structural steel, miscellaneous and custom steel fabrication industry. His background includes, sales, estimating, engineering, project managing, shipping and receiving, fabrication, welding, erecting, quality control, previous Certified Welding Inspector (non-destructive testing), Plant Safety and human resources. He has an associate degree in Mechanical Engineering and has working knowledge of AWS, AISC, NOMMAA, ASME and OSHA Standards. His qualifications and experience make him well suited for the position of Operations Manager.

Adrian began his career in construction industry in 2006 he has worked for architectural design firm & construction management firm giving him insight throughout the design/construction build process as both a subcontractor and a general contractor. He has worked as a project manager in the structural steel/miscellaneous metals since 2009. His background includes. 


AutoCad design development/ 3D construction modeling (BIM) . Adrian is a graduate of Porter and Chester Institute - Certificate in Architectural and Civil CAD Technology.


He has worked on many high-profile new construction and renovation jobs across the Tri state area, With over 17 years of extensive experience he has develop quality relationships with clients, subcontractors, and design team Members . Working with the EMW team & the various steel fabrication management software over the years Adrian has continued to hone his skills and be proven to be a vital link between shop and field operations resulting in seamless less transition. His background in AutoCAD & Archicad 3D modeling software (BIM) has served well in detecting and effectively solving problems inevitably occur during course construction.

Project Manager

Scott Thomas began in the steel industry in 2009 at Eastern Metal Works. He started as a purchasing agent and moved up the ranks to Project Manager in 2012. In 2013 Scott became the Detailing Manager to manage all detailing phases with in-house detailing and out-of-house detailing. Scott along with the other members of EMW’steam created and implemented EMW’s detailing standards to suit all EMW’s design purposes. He has experience dealing with contract documents and project specifications to make sure all detailing requirements are met. Scott also has experience in all aspects of structural and misc. steel throughout the company. Scott works with AutoCAD/Tekla/Fabsuite & Raptor programs.

Samantha Olschefski serves as the Account Receivable Representative at Eastern Metal Works, bringing over two years of dedicated experience to her role. A proud alumna of the University of New Haven, Samantha graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree, equipping her with a solid foundation in her field. Her academic background and professional expertise have been instrumental in her success, demonstrating her commitment to excellence and her pivotal role in managing financial transactions within her organization.
